Central Art is excited to present its third online exhibition and first artist feature Abie Loy Kemarre feature from Central Art - Aboriginal Art Store. This feature has been created to recognise the immense contribution that Abie Loy has made to the Aboriginal Art world.
Abie Loy Kemarre was born on Utopia Station, in the Eastern Desert in Central Australia, in 1972. In her early twenties Abie Loy began painting under the guidance of her skin group grandmother Kathleen Petyarre. Kathleen passed on her highly skilled painting style which involved creating depth-of-field, tiny shimmering dots. This was a heavy influence in Abie Loy's formative years and defined her painting style in the late 1990's. The artist feature ends with a series of these paintings depicting Bush Hen Dreaming and Bush Leaf Dreaming in a myriad of colours with spectacular, tiny shimmering dots.
Abie Loy's art has continued to developed. Recent artworks that are included in the artist feature include two spectacular Awelye paintings, a Sandhills paintings, a Women's Body Ceremony painting and a new approach to Bush Hen Dreaming.
The Abie Loy Kemarre feature is an exciting and inspiring collection of a magnificent career that continues to blossom.
